![]() This will be our last year to buy the passes because the park gets worse every year. We have been season pass holders now for three years. It's dirty, overpriced, and just plain disappointing. It's sad that Big Splash is the only water park Tulsa has to offer. She woke once to say something to them, and by the way she walked and talked, I am almost certain she was high. ![]() I watched one mother of young children sleep in her lounge chair while her kids ran wild. They cut in line in front of other kids, and cause other problems, and there are no parents around. I will often see small children (under 5 years old) running around the park unsupervised. Some use foul language, and fail to watch their children. Some will leave behind trash, and dirty diapers. Just a lot of rude, dirty, irresponsible people who can't take care of themselves. Let's just say they aren't Tulsa's finest. While I feel the park is dirty, I think a lot of it has to do the with the customers BIg Splash attracts. I am expecting a baby next spring, and there is no way I am going to pay admission for an infant. They also require that everyone pay admission. They don't allow outside food or drink unless you eat it outside the park. The food is overpriced and not very good. The pools seem dirty with slimy bottoms, and paint peeling off. ![]() So, not only was he distracted, but he couldn't see the pool anyways. Just last week, I watched as one lifeguard carried on a conversation with 2 girls while standing behind the pirate ship slide at the kiddie pool. Some of the lifeguards do not take their jobs seriously. Remember the little boy who died from the amoeba at a Tulsa splash pad a few years ago? Those amoebas grow in standing water. There are also big puddles of standing water by the kiddie pool. There are times when there is no water circulating in the kiddie pool at all, which is a health hazard. So far this season, we have visited 3 times, and only once was the water running on the kiddie pool slides. They have been needing new chairs for the last 4 years (at least), and have yet to buy new ones. The only thing that is new is the awkward polar bear slide in the kiddie pool that looks like it was bought from another water park that shut down. At the end of Summer 2011, they had a great promotion and promised a "new, exciting attraction" for 2012. But they always gets us back with super cheap season pass promotions. We have been season pass holders at Big Splash for four years now, and every year, we say it will be our last year. Save your money and make a good day trip to White Water or Schlitterbahn. I really hope big splash goes out of business so another water park can come along and be managed the right way. At the end of the day, I felt ripped off and disgusting. But atleast try and make it look like you're trying to make an effort to make patrons feel comfortable and the experience is money well spent. Which is fine, that's what businesses do. Big Splash makes it obvious they have one thing in mind, seperating it's patrons from their hard earned dollars. The bathrooms are awful, there is trash floating in all of the pools (esp the lazy river), the slides are in bad shape, it's over-priced, and it's small (even smaller when their slides don't work). Big Splash has done ZERO updates (with the exception of building a crappy dive platform and removing the cool zipline) the last 16 years and the place has steadily gone down-hill. I remember when I was a kid things were nice (and fun). Now the chairs are rusty, old, mangled, and need be thrown in a dumpster (just like Big Splash itself) Not to mention their chairs are the same ones they had when I visited 15 years ago. Big Splash offered no discount nor a warning that almost ALL of their main attractions were closed. My niece and nephew were severely disappointed and so was I. The line for the one twisty slide was ridiculous and we only rode it once because we had to wait 45 minutes in line *and big splash wasn't even busy that day*. They charge almost $25 and the silver bullet and 2 of the 3 twisty slides were closed that day. ![]() My niece and nephew had to drink warm tap water from Big Splash's disgusting water fountains that surprisingly don't spit out rusty-water because they have been their for 26 years. Only to discover they charge $4 for a cheap bottle of water at the concessions(the same ones you can get 24 for $3.00 at walmart). they charged me close to $25 dollars per person and most of the main attractions are closed w/o warming! They made me ditch my bottles of water that I had for my young niece and nephew. I recently took my niece and nephew to Big Splash and it was the biggest rip-off ever. ![]()
